Are You Stunned?

Stampin' Up! CEO, Shelli Gardner, posted a Simply Stunning Challenge on her blog and I wanted to play along!  I love simplicity!!

This simple card can be used for Valentine's Day, an anniversary or simply to tell that special someone - "I love you".

 

The Eiffel Tower and Amour images are Heat Embossed and three Rhinestone Jewels set off the greeting.

The row of hearts are created using the masking technique.  Punch sticky notes with the Heart to Heart Punch, adhere the hearts to Whisper White card stock and then spritz with Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz.  Remove your sticky hearts and VOILA!

Want the details on this card?  The Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper panel on the left has been embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  All of the card stock elements have been sponged using Soft Suede Classic Ink and a Stamping Sponge to add to the vintage feel.  For the tiny ribbon knots, just adhere two strips of Organdy Ribbon to the focal panel - securing the ends on the back.  Tie two separate pieces of ribbon in knots and adhere them to the ribbon strips with Mini Glue Dots that have been rolled into balls.

Snow Day!

Fashionable Hearts K.I.S.S.

It's Saturday and that means this is your Keep It Simple Saturday Project!  Do you love those hearts?  They are created using the new Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die!  With one pass through the Big Shot you get 5 different embossed and die cut hearts!!

The "For You" greeting is on a Modern Label punch of Whisper White card stock with Black Brads for embellishment.  A little White Gel Pen stitching connectes the hearts.

You can take this layout and change it for any occasion.  Make those hearts - butterflies, buttons, flowers, bugs....

Friday Fun - Duct Tape Creations

 

Are you aware of the entire craze of duct tape right now?  The colors, the patterns and the creations?  My boys went to a duct tape birthday party a few weeks ago where every guest made a duct tape wallet.  So funny!

Now, I know it's not paper crafting, but I wanted to share with you what my son, Wyatt, has created this week with duct tape.

Yes, I have an entire duct tape ensemble:  embellished duct tape flip flops, designer duct tape purse with pocket, duct tape rose and a personalized duct tape cell phone holder!  See the "J" on the cover? 

Am I stylin' or what?!

Wyatt has also created a duct tape belt in which he used retired Stampin' Up! Jumbo Eyelets for the notches and, of course, set them with our Crop-a-Dile!  I would show you a photo, but I didn't get one before he left for school wearing his belt.  Hey, at least he's wearing a belt!

It's fun to see Wyatt get so excited to earn money to go buy more duct tape and to be learning how to make all these different items.  It's doesn't matter what medium you use: paper, fabric or duct tape - finishing a crafting project and making items for others is so much fun!

NEW Framelits Dies and Video

The new Occasions Mini catalog contains many great new products.  One of my new favorites is our new Framelits.

The innovative, thin, wafer-like design of these dies lets you see where you’re placing the design before you cut! Layer dies inside each other to cut frames for stamp images. Cut single hearts or labels for accents or layering. You can use them with single sheets of card stock or Designer Series Paper. Hearts Collection coordinates with Take It to Heart Set (p. 14).  You can spend all day playing with them!  

 

 

The Labels Collection coordinates with Apothecary Art Stamp Set (p. 24). The possibilities are endless as to what you can create.  I know you will have as much fun as I have had making projects.  Each collection includes 6 dies in a sturdy envelope for easy storage in our Big Shot Die storage.

So Grateful K.I.S.S.

Welcome back to your Keep It Simple Saturday (K.I.S.S.).  This quick and easy card features the brand new Paper Doily Sizzlit Die from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  With the elegant detail of this fabulous die, your card really doesn't need much else!  I found that using our Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back of the Paper Doily die cut works the best for adhering it without a lot of extraneous adhesive getting all over the place.

The greeting comes from the new Apothecary Art stamp set and is stamped on an extended Word Window Punch. 

How do you extend your Word Window Punch?

1.  Cut a strip of card stock 3/8" wide and longer than your desired length.  Allow enough extra on each side to hang on to.

2.  Stamp greeting on strip of card stock.

3.  Working from the bottom of your Word Window Punch, insert card stock strip through punch opening and out one side of punch (See this post for placement.  For a longer punch, left edge of tag would come up and out of center punch opening).  Punch end of card stock strip.

4.  Switch ends and punch.

A Island Indigo Designer Printed Brad finishes off the card!  Easy peasy - super simple!

The colors for this card were inspired by the Splitcoast Color Challenge CC356 - Basic Gray, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade.
